About This Site
What?
The Proliferation of Linux is a blog dedicated to tracking the progress and triumphs of Linux and open source software around the world.
Why?
Just because I happen to be a great fan of open source software, and the principles of open source. Hopefully this blog will help someone out there learn more about OSS and Linux
When?
Whenever I have time. I try and get round to posting at least a story a day, but this isn’t always possible. This blog is a hobby, and unfortunately I have to put many things ahead of it sometimes. This also sometimes results in somewhat shorter posts than what I’d like to have.
Where?
This site is hosted on my VPS from Linode.com ( open inline).
How?
The VPS has:
- 10 GB of Disk Space
- 200 GB Bandwidth
- 360MB RAM
It runs Gentoo Linux, Lighttpd, MySQL and BiND. Google Apps is used to handle mail.
The blog itself is built using Wordpress MU.
